The Machiavellian nature of the GOP Leaders and the sheer and astounding ignorance of the Republican constituents will prove to be devastating to the United States, perhaps more devastating than the atomic bombs the United States dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan on August 6 & 9, 1945 during the 2nd World War.
The immediate casualties were estimated to be over 120,000 (later revisions put the number close to 220,000+) but the aftermath of the explosions continue to haunt Japan till today. Despite the devastation, the effect of the atomic bombs on Japan is just a preview of the sort of damages stockpiles of nuclear weapons US (and other Superpowers) has could inflict on this planet if another World War were to erupt.
Experts believe the immediate impact of a nuclear war would cause the annihilation of half the world’s population; and yet it is my view that the United States is heading to even worst catastrophes – courtesy of the GOP – than what Japan was subjected to as the result of the atomic bombing.
