Marco Rubio was badly defeated; he bowed out (of the race) early, much earlier than even Ted Cruz whose performance left a lot to be desired. Although Mr. Cruz was more vocal (than Rubio), more pointed in his criticism of Donald Trump, the rowdy crowds of ‘deplorable’ that have already backed “sleazy Don” were too much to overcome. Besides, Cruz was at the time the most hated GOP Senator in Washington. Lindsey Graham who was an early drop-out presidential contender joked that if Ted was murdered on the Senate floor, no one would cooperate to solve the murder.
