Just a week ago, the streets near the nation Capital were like the scenes of cities run by mobs, countries without leaders after getting rid of the authoritarians. To the rest of the world, the United States looked nothing like a democracy. Allies were horrified; enemies were gleeful United States is not that different.
The country which has sacrificed so much – its soldiers’ lives, its taxpayers’ cash – has nothing to show for it two and half centuries later. Led by a man with no character, a de facto liar and morally deprived, the United States has come to the realization that its noble objective of ridding other countries of dictators and authoritarians seems at best a way to hide its own ugly reality, that it too is in need of doing some serious cleaning of its own backyard.
