Not too long ago, in 1991, Clarence Thomas who now seats on the Supreme Court was accused of having sexually harassed Anita Hill. By today’s standard – with the backing of the MeToo movement – Clarence Thomas would have barely made it if at all. More recently in 2018, Brett Kavanaugh who is also a Supreme Court Judge was accused by Christine Blasey Ford of sexual assaults in their teenage years.

Both Supreme Court judges were considered to be upstanding and highly qualified individuals for their posts; both Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford were considered to be genuine and truthful and yet, in both instances, the outcome was exactly the same: the white boys who ran the show, all the shows, decided to ignore those women. In a sense, the culture still lingers.

But something happened; the MeToo movement which was created in 2006 by Tanaka Burke was reignited by the outcome in the Brett Kavanaugh – Christine Blasey Ford hearing. Brett escaped but…
