Democracy is wanted by everyone; many gave their lives for it. Our government has sacrificed the lives of our soldiers to take it to countries which didn’t have it. And yet democracy has flaws, many flaws.
In a democracy, the individual who aspires to become the leader (the president or the prime minister or the chancellor or whatever title is bestowed upon that individual) must meet a few basic criteria. Here in the United States, the requirements are very simple i) one must be an American born citizen ii) one must be at least 35 years of age iii) one must have lived in the country for the past 14 consecutive years before bidding for the presidency.
