For several decades, the whole country blindly believed that the Republican Party was the Party which would protect the country and abide by the Constitution. The GOP was seen as the party which would defend the rule of law at all cost and would force the Democrats to follow suit.

Although that was never the case – there are many examples to prove that – the country goes on without challenging the premise that Republicans were Patriots.

What a mistake that was!
