The Shameful Support & Practice of Racism (which again runs in the Republican Party)
Does the name Nelson Mandela mean anything to you?
Maybe! Maybe not! But if you’re black, it should.
What does Mandela have to do with Ronald Reagan?
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail in an isolated island in South Africa from 1963 to 1990 under the system of apartheid –
Apartheid was a system of institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination in South Africa between 1948 and 1991
Mr. Mandela was one of the “lucky” victims of that inhumane system; several thousand BLACK Africans lost their lives for opposing the apartheid.
Guess which side Ronald Reagan was?
Mr. Reagan had publicly lent the support of his administration, thus the United States, to the system of government in South Africa which resorted to inhumane (including tortures, indiscriminate arrests of Blacks and even murder) measures to enforce it. The Reagan administration did not just offer verbal support for the South African government but he also entered into alliance with the government.
