The State of the Republic

Before the election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States, the economy was always a rallying theme for anyone who vied for the Oval Office, a norm which has given way to the popular adage “It’s the economy, stupid”.  It is no longer so.

If that were still the case, everyone, irrespective of political affiliation, would have taken to the streets to dance to the beat of wealth, health, good life but instead there is a heated debate – and the unlikelihood of a solution – over what needs to be done to remedy the situation.

The State of the Republic has never been that weak.
