Mike Ducheine has captured the descent into anarchy of a country which once was the beacon of democracy in the statement “to keep millions of people in ignorance not only prevents democracy from flourishing but it also clears the path to authoritarianism”. Mr. Ducheine also acknowledges that “Democracy CANNOT survive in an environment where truth and facts DO NOT matter.”

Democracy in America is indeed in serious jeopardy. The President, de facto leader of the Republican Party wants to do away with all norms of a democratic system; the Legislative Branch, under the full control of the Republican Party, either collaborates with the president, relinquishes control to him or simply shrugs off the impact of his action on the country’s future.
