There was a time when partisanship (Democrats vs Republicans) was the number one culprit for gridlock in Washington. That was also the time when ideologies on both sides threatened to cripple our system of government. And we thought that was bad. Today, the divide is caused by either the widespread ignorance in the Republican Party or the deliberate acts by agents of foreign government disguised as Americans. Either way, the Republican Party no longer considers the interests of the United States a priority. Its leaders only have empty words; their actions leave a streak of clues the United States of America can no longer rely on the Republican Party to keep the shining city on the hill lit.
