Is Govt Shutdown As Bad As It Sounds?

Why Is The Shutdown Good For The Country?

1.- Legislators’ indifference
Despite the outrage Donald Trump and GOP Leaders expressed about the shutdown, Republican Legislators do not care an iota about the country and its constituents. Don’t take my word for it.

According to a November 2017 article in the Washington Post, Donald Trump told confidants a government shutdown might be good for his administration, and he would put the blame on Democrats.

The past year alone, Republicans introduced policies harmful to the country. For instance, when Donald Trump appointed Rick Perry as head of the EPA, the intention is to dismantle the agency which protects the environment, the air we breathe, the water we drink from being polluted. It so happens the only reason pharmaceutical and chemical companies did not regularly dump chemical in our rivers is because of the penalty they will incur. With Trump, those companies will no longer incur fees or penalties for dumping chemical into our rivers. Translation: they will do just that because it’s cheap that way. Their actions will pollute the water we drink and use to cook and shower; the crisis which occurred in Flint, MI a couple of years ago will become frequent across the nation. Within a few decades, our kids, our grandkids will suffer of cancer or cancerous like diseases, and their children will be born handicapped, deformed or worst. The question one must ask is: why would Republicans want to remove laws which protect us from the actions of those companies? The answer is not hard; those companies contribute towards their elections (or re-elections) campaign, thus they are protected against penalties to the detriment of our wellbeing. Never mind that The People will suffer the consequences. Republicans never care what happens to The People.
