Legislators in Washington (Republicans and Democrats alike) have been pitting their constituents against each other – although Republican Legislators are ten times better at doing this – for the sake of i) guaranteeing their jobs in Washington ii) meeting the requirements of lobbyists & special interest groups, all to the detriment of their supporters.

Despite the “both-sides-of-the-aisle” machiavellian strategy, Democrat constituents prove to be smarter than their Republican counterparts. Although Democrats are like their Republican counterparts partisan but the former (Democrats) are also very quick to recognize when their Representatives try to pass a legislation which would not benefit them. Republican supporters on the other hand, for yet to understand reason, are inclined to believe everything their leaders tell them without questioning its validity or its veracity. That could help explain the reason some still believe the blatantly false rumor that Obama was not born in the United States. Republican constituents seem to have outsourced their ability to think to those (people like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, etc.) for whom to lie is a way of life, thus making any attempt to have a rational discussion with Republican supporters a futile exercise.
