The Road The Republicans Built Lead to Nowhere

Notwithstanding the fact those who voted for Donald Trump displayed very little judgement, they have become frighteningly irrational every time their role model says or does something – which is very often – completely outrageous, in their attempt to defend his statement or his action. The “Deplorables” behavior goes beyond partisanship; it is nothing short of cult-like worship with no logical explanation. The grim problem is exacerbated by the addition of voices – such as the Wall Street Journal which used to be a rational medium – in support of irrational behavior and action by the president.

At a rally in Alabama a few days ago on Friday Sept 22, 2017, Mr. Trump said he would like to see NFL owners respond to players kneeling during the National Anthem by saying: “Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, he’s fired. He’s fired!” Mr. Trump added during his rant, “because that’s a total disrespect of our heritage. That’s a total disrespect for everything we stand for.” On top of it all, Trump complained “They’re ruining the game, right? They’re ruining the game.”
