Prior to sending Congress the letter, FBI was also conducting investigation into Donald Trump’s connection with Russia and his former campaign manager’s (Paul Manafort) tie to the Communist country. Questions directed to Comey regarding Trump-Russia connection investigation always received a “no comment” answer. And even after Comey found out that Russia hackers were behind the recent hacking into DNC, the White House and other government computer systems, Mr. Comey suggested NOT TO name FBI as the source of information in order to avoid influencing the election. Does that sound like someone with poor judgement to you?

So, Mr. Comey doesn’t have poor judgement and understands quite well that FBI must do everything possible NOT to influence elections. But here is where Mr. Comey shows calculated move in regards to the timely letter sent to Congress.
