At least, Lesbians are spared. Still investigating where they are heading.
Supreme Court aside, are you gay terrified?
If you are, we need to talk.
The vitriolic argument opposing gay marriage by those who profess to be Christians, the same people who claim to have the love of Christ in their hearts is nothing short of ridiculous. In fact, it’s hilarious, downright preposterous.
It offers serious challenge to a reasonable mind that any individual could possibly explain love through denying others the happiness they seek, the happiness they so much want. Forget about the Supreme Court impending decision on the issue of gay marriage; I don’t have much regard for the Justices who have proven time and again they lack the wisdom required of their post; they are in dire need of guidance. Forget about what everybody else around you is saying in regards to the issue of gay marriage; let’s reason for a moment. Why are you against gay marriage? The most common answer cited by almost everyone who opposes gay marriage is that marriage has always been the union between a man and a woman, right? The opponents (to gay marriage) usually support the previous argument citing the Bible; in the book of Genesis Chapter 19, God sent two angels to get Lot and family out of Sodom before destroying both Sodom and Gomorrah, the two cities that were plagued with homosexuals – Since no mention of lesbians were made, it looks like the lesbians may escape hell after all – Thus far, if one wants to abide by his faith and belief, completely relying on the Bible to dictate how society should behave, the opponents (to gay marriage) have a solid argument.
One cannot ignore the fact there is a large sector of the Christian community that will resort to violence to force their belief unto others, such was in the case of the doctors who were targeted to be killed by those who wanted to put an end to abortions (performed by those doctors.) As such, their stand against gay marriage must be analyzed through the prism of Christianity. If God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for practicing “perverted sexual acts”, he will not hesitate to destroy America; that’s the rationale. And the Christians are all up in arms warning us that such destruction is imminent. Woe to us if we do not heed!
Without taking upon myself the difficult task of speaking on behalf of God, let me say he is not at all happy with the behavior of those who profess to love him. God has urged us to love one another just as Christ loves us. In Romans 13:10, Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. To deny happiness to others is not in any way, shape or form an act of love.
God thinks those who oppose gay marriage are hypocrites; they commit evil in the dark, they steal and rob others, they commit adultery, they speak ill of others and yet they are the most vociferous on the issue of gay marriage. In the book of Matthew Chapter 7 Verse 5, God says “You hypocrite!” – I am much too shy to use such strong words – “First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
Even in the most extreme case where God would plan to “burn the Gay in hell”, he does not entrust anyone here on earth to do anything about that; according to the book of Matthew Chapter 13 Verse 30, God wants both the good and the bad to grow together; he said “Let both grow together until the harvest. At harvest time I’ll tell the reapers: Gather the weeds first and tie them in bundles to burn them, but store the wheat in my barn.'” So, it’s not anybody’s business to want to do anything on behalf of God. He doesn’t need anybody’s help.
God said you have no business telling others what you think will happen to those who do not listen to you; you have no way of knowing what God will do; you have no way of knowing what he thinks about the issue. Even if you’re right about the gay marriage issue (or any other issue for that matter), what you want, what you wish for, what you have in mind do not constitute an order for God to act. In Exodus 32:14 “the LORD changed his mind about the terrible disaster he had threatened to bring on his people.” You are not God’s spoke person, stop acting as if you were.
