Unemployment Debates Rage On

As of date, Congress has yet to approve extending the unemployment insurance for those who are still unemployed (http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/07/politics/unemployment-vote/).

I fail to understand any rationale of debates over this matter; people who used to work lost their job, they need financial assistance. I was under the impression that Congress main role is to act on behalf of the constituents.

Well, as it stands today, the constituents need to collect unemployment; what’s to debate? I do have one question for the unemployed: why do you keep sending to Washington those self-serving bozos?
